Hello friends! I am so excited to be bringing you my first grade classroom tour today! :) I usually post a tour before school even starts, but this year I decided to wait until we were a few weeks in. I’m really glad I did b/c a real classroom has students in it every day- and this is how my room currently looks!
When I started getting my pictures ready to post, I started to stress out a little because my pictures aren’t the best. I took them in a rush on Friday before leaving, I took them with my camera phone, and my room has no natural lighting. However, I’m posting them anyway because I figure that everyone who reads this is a real teacher anyway and you most likely would face the same issues if you were taking pics of your room! So, my perfectionist tendencies are just going to have to get over it! :)
I’m not going to explain a whole lot about my classroom tour because I know you just want the pictures anyway… I usually do! :) Let me know if you have questions!
I’m here to give you a quick peek at how I organize my classroom library. I have all of my books labeled with a sticker that corresponds to what basket it goes in. Some of them are sorted by the genre of the book and some are sorted by favorite authors. I don’t have my books sorted by level because my students choose these books as interest books. They have other (leveled) books in their book boxes that come from our school’s book room.
When the back to school paperwork crazy time hits, I make sure that I am READY for my school’s sneak a peek night. I do what I can to get the back to school paperwork mountain tamed before school starts. I don’t want to start off sending paperwork home every single night.
That’s why I created my Meet the Teacher Pack. This resource has been an integral part of my back to school paperwork routine for 3 years. Read more
Have you ever planned the arrangement of your room digitally with a Digital Classroom Layout?
Guess what, friends?! I am here today to make your life EASIER!
Do you spend your first day of pre-planning moving your furniture around trying to figure out what setup is going to work for you? How about if you are a little ADD and get tired of looking at the same thing all year long?
Well… I am pretty much both of those people! But, I have decided that I need to work SMARTER, not harder.
Hi friends! I hope that your week back to school has gone very well. I have enjoyed seeing my kids and reorganizing my classroom. I had the idea that I really wanted to see what my fellow teacher’s classrooms looked like in January. Check out my current classroom below… it isn’t as pretty as in August, but it sure is where a ton of learning & laughing happen!! :)
I am loving all of the stuff I got accomplished on my workday Monday! :)
What is something you feel accomplished about this week?
