Where I Was 5 Years Ago

Hey readers! Miss Monica over at I Heart Grade 3 is hosting a great linky where she asks a question each week to help teachers think, reflect and share over the summer.

She said that even though she can’t blog about her classroom this summer, she can still blog about her thoughts, ideas, and philosophies about teaching and education. I love it!
This week’s topic is where I was 5 years ago.

Well, 5 years ago I was a different person! Don’t we all want to say that? What I mean is, don’t we all want to look back and think about how much we have grown and learned? I’m glad I am not the same person I was 5, 10, 15 years ago. I had a lot to learn about life back then. I know I still do, but I’m happy to see how much I’ve grown as a wife, a friend, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a co-worker, a teacher, and a person.

5 years ago, I was a newlywed. My husband and I had been married for 8 short months.

We were babies!!

I had just graduated from college and was searching for my first teaching job. I went on a bunch of interviews and started the school year with no job. :(

I feel like 5 years ago, I really had no idea what life was going to be like. I hardly knew how to pay my bills and grocery shop.
I may have gone to college for 4 years, but I also had NO idea what a teaching career was like.
