Do You Instagram?

Do you use social media in your classroom? If not, I highly suggest using Instagram to get your feet wet! I started it this year and it is interactive, engaging, and {best of all!} easy.
I use Instagram to keep in real-time contact with my students’ parents. I love that when my students go home from school, if they are asked “What did you do at school today?”, they can’t say “Nothing” if there is a picture right there of what they did!

Character Education for the Classroom

First Grade Classroom: Character Education Posters

One of my favorite things is teaching my kiddos all about character education and what it looks like to be a good person. I try my best to model for them how I’d like them to act. It would be totally normal for you to hear me call my students ‘Sir’ and ‘Ma’am’ throughout the day. I apologize to them when I make a mistake. I purposely leave my kids alone for a minute or 2 just so I can talk about integrity when I return.

Random Act of Kindness Week

Last week was Random Act of Kindness Week at my school and one of our teachers posted a bunch of different Acts that are totally free and hardly take any time- thus making them super easy RAKs!

I encourage you to try these at your school this week. It really did make me feel better as a person and I could also see my kiddos picking up on it and showing kindness as well. It filled all of our buckets up! Read more
